When fall rolls in, as it’s finally doing in Davis, it brings along patterns in darker colors and the opportunity to mix and match like a fiend. A wonderful example of such a combination is floral and army print. This Fashionista did an A+ job of pairing the two prints in an easy and chic way.
Name: Rotha So

College Fashionista: What are you wearing and where did you get them?
Rotha So: I’m wearing combat boots from Steve Madden, knee high socks from Forever 21, I got my army jacket from my dad’s closet and I actually cut up my shorts myself.
CF: What fashion trend are you most looking forward to this fall?
RS: I just really like baggy, tomboyish clothes and this fall I’m looking forward to more sweaters and high-waisted stuff.
CF: Where are your favorite places to shop?
RS: Definitely Buffalo Exchange and Cross Roads in Sacramento. Just a lot of thrift stores where you can find things to make into your own.
CF: What would your favorite piece of clothing have to be?
RS: Definitely my high-waisted shorts.
How To: Military-inspired looks tend to be a favorite of mine, especially when paired with an unexpected and girly piece. To get a look similar to this Fashionista’s, go to your local Army Surplus store and grab an authentic jacket. If that’s not available, similar ones are available at stores like Zara. For the feminine touch to this otherwise masculine look, go for a simple floral dress in light colors. Complete the look with pretty socks and black wedges for a fall-ready look.
