FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Shannon Stucke

I saw her coming from a mile away. I was sitting on a bench scouting for Fashionistas/os when I noticed a flash of orange. After a sea of black and navy coats, there was no ignoring it. This Fashionista’s orange cropped peacoat was refreshingly chic. As she walked closer, I observed that her entire outfit was full of saturated colors and patterns perfect for winter.

This Fashionista wears her bright coat over a black knit dress and leggings. She adds a few more pops of color with her olive green scarf, blue feather earrings and tribal print bag. She grounds the outfit with neutral socks and riding boots. These classic pieces mixed with her bohemian accessories makes for an originally stylish outfit!

CollegeFashionista: How would you define your style?

Shannon Stucke: It tends to change with my mood and the weather! I feel like my style is pretty eclectic though. I mix a lot of classic, basic pieces with a few trendier items.

CF: What is the go-to piece in your closet?

SS: Those brown knee-high leather boots from Urban Original have definitely been my go-to item this fall and winter.

CF: What trends or colors are you looking forward to for spring/summer 2012?

SS: I love spring for the bright colors and the light, flowy fabrics! The peplum silhouette is one of my favorites too!

CF: Do you have a fashion icon or inspiration?

SS: I really like Blake Lively's and Rachel Bilson's styles.

How To: For this outfit you can take any black dress and leggings (navy works as well!) and add some bright accessories. You can find bright earrings at Urban OG, and stores like Topshop and Forever 21 have jumped on the bright-coat bandwagon. Pair these pieces with a solid scarf and knee-high boots and you will be good to go!
