FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Stephanie McWilliams

It is a rare occasion that we are blesses with 50 degree weather in the month of January here in Iowa City. In the Midwest, this means no more UGGs, parkas or North Face jackets. We take advantage of the weather to soak up the sun and look pretty in pastels. This on-the-go Fashionista shined on campus with a pretty-in-pink look while soaking up the rays. Her look encompasses the feeling of spring while staying true to the month of January.

CollegeFashionista: What inspired your look for today?

Stephanie McWilliams: It’s January and 55 degrees in Iowa. So I chose a brighter color to match the sunny day!

CF: How do you transition from winter wear to spring style?

SM: I brighten my color selection from darker browns to pastels and less layering.

CF: What items in your closet can you not live without?

SM: My pearl earring set, pearl ring to match, collection of scarves and definitely my variety of Sperry’s.

CF: What triggered your love for pearls?

SM: My grandmother because I loved how the pearls added the finishing touch to her classy outfits.

CF: Who is your favorite designer?

SM: I love Ralph Lauren because he’s preppy and timeless. I can always find something I love when I go shopping there.
