This Fashionista exudes multiple trends for spring, and styles her look to perfection. Coral, neutral on neutral, shorts with tights, and oxfords can each be seen as a trend on its own, but this Fashionista pieces them together as a cohesive ensemble. Jil Sander and Banana Republic both emphasized neutral on neutral for the spring 2011 runway, while looks from BCBG and Loewe emphasized brights. Both trends can stand-alone or be mixed as this Fashionista shows us for an optimistic pop in spring dressing.

Major: Communication Studies and Business Minor
CollegeFashionista: Which trends are you excited to experiment with for spring?
Bree Burich: I am looking forward to mixing structured masculine pieces with more femine styles. I still will continue the layering style but with lighter materials to replace the heavy sweaters.
CF: Where do you turn for fashion inspiration?
BB: I turn to blogs and fashion magazines for inspiration, but I get a lot of ideas simply from observing what people are wearing either in my classes or walking around campus. I also look to celebrities such as Whitney Port or Jessica Alba.
CF: Which couture designer would you invest in a piece from?
BB: Christian Louboutin for his classic red sole black pump. I would also have to say Alexander McQueen because he designed pieces that were unique and that made a statement on their own.
How To: Coral is the “it” color for spring, and there are many different options on how to incorporate it in your day-to-day look. One option is to accessorize, either with a scarf like Bree, or a bold lipstick. For an outfit option this bohemian crochet top would be the perfect choice. Layering neutrals can be done with maxi skirts and loose knit sweaters, or try a different route with a white button-up and khaki shorts. For spring you can go bold or go neutral and either way you will be making a statement.
