Rain. Rain. And more rain. I am not entirely sure as to why I did not look into the weather of Storrs, Connecticut during my college-seeking process. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love it here, but I wish we could go a whole week or two without a dreary downpour. In my style guru bio, I mentioned that I love anything vintage or old-fashioned, so you bet I stopped this Fashionisto. His impeccable old school Gumby t-shirt showed me that he can be a little whimsical which of course is always fashionable.
Name: Andrew Capobianco
Year: Senior
Major: Business Management
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your personal style?
Andrew Capobianco: Different. I like to wear strange unique clothing so I stand out from everyone else. I like to wear shirts that I feel like nobody else would have.
CF: Who would you consider a well-dressed man?
AC: Frank Ocean because of his Asian-themed style. I like how he doesn’t wear the typical hipster attire or “celebrity” attire.
CF: What’s the one essential piece in your closet that you can’t live without?
AC: My dojo shoes because when I come back from a hard day of class and my feet are aching I need to slip them into a light, comfortable shoe. And let’s face it, what footwear provides those features better than dojo shoes.
CF: What is your favorite era for clothing?
AC: I really enjoy the music and culture of the 1970’s and the bold fashion statements of the musicians from which it came. If you just look at the cover of the Isley Brother’s Greatest Hits you get a sense of what I’m talking about. This time was huge for wearing anything you could think of and making it fashionable.
CF: What is your favorite article of clothing?
AC: High socks.
How To: Sometimes the best outfits are the simple ones like this Fashionisto’s. Shop at thrift stores and flea markets to find vintage t-shirts like this one.
