FASHIONISTO SPOTLIGHT: Phillip Gus

This week I came across a very style savvy Fashionisto. This Fashionisto has a taste for the finer things in life, which to him is his Rolex and Ferragamos! This week’s Fashionisto is not only extremely fashionable but also he’s pre-medicine, what more could a girl ask for? I couldn’t help but aimlessly stare at this Fashionisto's outfit and I think it’s because of the button-up/cardigan combination. I am a sucker for guys in cardigans and this Fashionisto knew exactly how to play off this cardigan; he layered a beige cardigan (with blue lining) with a crisp blue button up. I think what completed the look was how he folded the cuff of the button-up over the sleeve of the cardigan — very prep school chic! This week’s Fashionisto definitely stole my heart with his prim and proper ensemble. This should be a point of reference for all the guys who find a sweatshirt as their fashion staple!

Name: Phillip Gus

Major: Pre-Medicine

Year: Senior

College Fashionista: If I were to walk into your closet what would I find?

Philip Gus: You would probably find a whole lot of cardigans and button-ups, as you can tell I am really into them at the moment. I also have a lot of sweater vest and v-neck sweaters to layer with my button-ups, so you would find a lot of those too.

CF: What is your distinct scent?

PG: That’s a secret I can’t tell! I bounce around between five or six different cologne’s but my most used are Versace and Bulgari.

CF: Where do you usually shop?

PG: It really varies. I have a lot of clothes from J.Crew and Banana Republic. I get a lot of my jeans from Neiman Marcus because I like True Religion and Seven. I also like shopping at The Gap and Express, they have nice stuff for men. I guess it really depends on where I am at the moment and if I see something I like.

How to: Want this look? Well, lucky for you it’s extremely simple to replicate! All you need is a crisp button up layered under a button up cardigan or v-neck sweater paired with a dark pair of jeans. I don’t think sneakers would work with this look so a pair of brown or black loafers would be perfect!
