I have met many interns this summer who have to wear black as a requirement! I know what you are thinking, “how boring!” But when you think about it, some of the greatest fashion trends of all time became popular thanks to their lack of color. For instance, the little black dress popularly known as the LBD has been famous among women young and old looking to make a statement at all sorts of occasions. Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld recently released a book revisiting the history of Chanel's little black jacket. While popular assumption may be that black is boring, I promise you black will never go out of vogue.
This Fashionista is an intern at CS Magazine. She spends her days working on marketing projects in the office and nights running around at events held or sponsored by the publication. The dress code requires her to look “fashion forward” however, when working events, interns are asked to wear all black. If you ask me, this Fashionista accomplished both of those requirements with her fabulous ensemble.
She chose a classic LBD with a not-so-classic cut paired with a chunky wedge to keep her look young and modern! Her classic Cartier bracelet and coral mani-pedi were the perfect final touches to this Fashionista’s overall ensemble!
To achieve a look like this try to find a classic LBD with a modern shape. This Fashionista’s choice of a parachute style dress added the perfect amount of flair (pun intended) to her otherwise traditional look. Prepared for a long night on her feet managing the guest list at a swanky event, her choice of a chunky wedge will leave her feeling stylish and comfortable at the end of a long day of work. And that is how a real internship Fashionista thinks!
