Enjoying one of the final long warm days before winter takes over, I stumbled upon this dapper duo and their respective collections of denim. If there were a denim jackpot, I would say that I just hit it! In what can only be described as a denim yin-yang, I found these two proudly displaying their identical looks (down to socks)! While denim is a seasonless wardrobe staple, the treatments, combinations and colors of jeans are often a sign of the times and this Fashionisto and his lady are one step ahead of the rest of us. Seen on the spring 2012 runways of Bottega Veneta and Vivienne Westwood, rugged denim on denim pairings are essential looks for the season ahead. Not only is the look spot-on for spring but, as displayed, it is an ideal look to match fall's flannels and boots.
Hint: While the looks on the runway can seem a bit intimidating for the sidewalk, breaking it up with a different denim wash on the top than on the bottom helps to make the look more wearable. As this Fashionisto proves, darker denim on the bottom with a staple light denim jacket is a perfect example of a well-planned pairing.
