Here is one piece of advice ALL men should take notice of and adhere to: don’t be afraid to add color to your wardrobe! I spotted this Fashionisto from nearly a mile away with his bright red sneaker laces, neon orange watch and book bag combo.
While he chooses to stick to a more modest navy blue polo and black cotton jacket coupled with a pair of cuffed jeans, his use of color in his accessories helps him pull off an effortlessly stylish yet comfortable look.
I especially love this Fashionisto’s decision to put red laces in his shoes. Shoelaces are often overlooked but can actually help in creating a bold fashion statement.
Just last year, a company called “Mr. Kennedy” created a line of shoelaces made of pure gold and silver that take approximately 120 hours to produce and cost up to $19,000. While that may be an exorbitant amount of money to spend on a pair of laces alone, it is a sign that designers are beginning to take note of the creative things that can be done with them.
You can buy a nice pair of shoelaces at nearly any store that sells sneakers. I found a great site called “We Love Colors” that has a huge selection of colored laces for prices a lot lower than $19,000. And as a college student, we’re sure you’ll appreciate that.
Hint: If you don’t want to go all out and turn your wardrobe into a full rainbow just yet, try it with your accessories first. Go out and get a vibrant-colored watch like his or maybe even a neon-colored belt to give your outfit a little boost.
