If summer is the season for crisp white sundresses, and winter ushers in yummy black coats and dresses, where does that leave fall? This Fashionista thinks the answer is somewhere in-between; she strikes a perfect note in fall-ready shades of brown. Now don’t be fooled because it’s difficult to dress in head to toe brown; however, this Fashionista pulls it off perfectly by choosing different, complementary shades. Her sweater is a light taupe, her belt and watch a dark chocolate brown, and her shoes are tan. Nothing matches, but everything is balanced. Her dress finishes the look, pulling together all of the shades in her outfit, and adding punches of a red and green floral for a bit of fun.
To get the look, start with a patterned base, like this cute rose detailed dress from Nasty Gal. Or if you’re a little more adventurous, you can give this snake skin-print dress a try. It's incredibly fierce, with shades of brown and teal. Next, add a fun cardigan, such as this Obakki one in oatmeal or (for a more wallet-friendly cardi) this camel toned one from American Apparel is adorable and incredibly versitile. Finally, cinch the look with this cool two-toned belt, and throw on some ankle booties (à la Kate Moss, one of my favorite Fashionistas to emulate) and you’ll be ready to paint the town brown. Or rather…oatmeal, camel, chocolate, taupe, and tan.
