ACCESSORIES REPORT: Stop and Smell the Roses

There are a few things that will never go out of style: denim, candy, stilettos and last but not least, floral print. Though it is officially fall here in the Nation’s Capitol, DC’s trendiest are still lusting after the warmer weather, squeezing in last minute summer dresses and crop tops for good measure. Yes, we have to bid adieu to sandals and denim cut-offs for the time being, but a little flower power can make the colder weather a bit more bearable, and color a bit of happiness into the dreary days ahead.

I spotted this Fashionista, Reema, on her way to class and was immediately drawn to the amazing arm candy she had on display. Layers of bangles and fine jewelry contrasted her neutral outfit of white and denim, and underneath splashes of color and gold galore I spotted the crème de la crème: floral.  The obvious piece de resistance is the silver, hand-painted bangle she’s sporting, drawing attention from all angles onto her wrists and away from her simple white tee. To compliment this statement piece, Reema pairs it with other bangles — a purple, plastic one and one of antique glass (also floral) but nothing too over the top. This Fashionista knows how to complete an outfit with beautiful and dainty accessories, and she definitely has heads turning and buds blossoming.

There is absolutely no denying that flowery print is in full bloom and perhaps always will be. Floral accessories are saccharine and unique, perfect for dressing up a dull outfit or adding a little sweetness to an edgier look or LBD. Though September’s showers won’t exactly be producing May flowers, the buds of beauty found on floral accessories leaves Fashionistas everywhere dreaming!

Spotted: Floral print has been all the rage this season, seen on the runways of Christopher Kane, Matthew Williamson and Mulberry.
