It is just not possible for anyone who lives near the beach to not make themselves at home in the warm sand and sun at some point this summer. Being a true Floridian, the white sand and cool water of the Gulf has always been my home away from home. Until recently, I never really put too much effort into the outfits that would serve as the cover-up to my favorite bikini. Well, who says we can’t let our inner Fashionista come out even when we’re headed to the beach? Use this sweet summertime to try out some trendy threads over your swimsuit like this Fashionista!

Maxis are definitely all the rage and wide brim hats are super fun to try, but my personal favorite part about our Fashionista’s beachside look is her tribal tank. Tribal styles started to appear in the last few seasons and they are still making many appearances in this summer’s fashion.  The tribal trend exists in both patterns on clothing and in the overall free-spirited style that it originates from. So there are many ways to bring it into your wardrobe.

If you love the tank our Fashionista is wearing, here is a similar style from Forever 21. Try it with skinny black pants and platform wedges to dress up the look. For more color, go for this T-shirt dress topped off with gold jewelry and you’ll be perfect for a fun girl’s night. Like I mentioned before, you don’t always have to go with tribal prints to bring the essence of the natives into your look. Try a statement necklace like this one with high-waisted denim shorts, carry this Free People tapestry bag (excellent beach bag) and let your spirit free.

Of course, we can’t forget about that perfect two-piece either! We all seek a great summer bikini and you can bring summer trends right into that as well. This PacSun fringe top is a great way to bring the tribal look to the beach. Feel free to mix and match tops and bottoms to keep things fresh.

From now on, Fashionistas, give a little extra thought to your beachwear, from bathing suit to cover-up. There’s so many fun ways to incorporate all of summer’s trends into your beach attire. Even the sunny sands and foamy waves can be your runway! Beach bum who? Not you!
