New York inspires me every day to be a better person, be it at professional level or as a Fashionista. I’ve always considered my style as girly-chic, but like many other young adults I like to try different things once in a while. Experimenting with my wardrobe is one of my favorite hobbies and making one statement piece pop out from the rest is the most interesting part.
There are still many people who believe that some patterns belong exclusively to one style. Black leather to rock & roll, lace to sophisticated and girly girls and denim to cowboys. Makes sense once you write it down, and maybe it is the first thing that comes to mind, but thanks to the fashion innovators nowadays there’s not an exact image for one style.
Today’s Fashionista is wearing a loose T-shirt with an A-line pink lace skirt, sandals, aviator sunglasses and a couple of gold rings. I liked this outfit because of something I call simplicity. Pink lace is one of my favorites because of its sweet and girly representation, but wearing lace doesn’t mean you have to keep it dressed up.
With the insufferable hot weather from these past weeks, the last thing you want to wear are pants or blazers. The better choices are loose T-shirts, skirts and sandals. Easy, breezy and ready to wear.
Besides knowing how to wear lace on a casual Sunday afternoon, something to consider is the use of T-shirts with anything. This Fashionista wore an oversized T-shirt and wrapped the bottom to make a cute summer detail. You can always change the sandals for booties and try oversized T-shirts with anything from leather shorts to even sequin skirts.
The fact of having a statement piece doesn’t mean you have to dress up your entire look, on the contrary is always good to create a balance and accommodate any piece to any occasion.
