As the second half of the month of July is slowly approaching us, the days only seem to get hotter and hotter here in Richmond. In order to beat the extreme heat of the South, Fashionistas are staying cool by choosing to wear outfits that are comfortable and made out of lightweight fabrics.

This week’s featured Fashionista was wearing a casual bohemian look that is perfect for the intense summer weather of Richmond. She purchased her light blue tie-front top from Pacsun and her khaki shorts from American Eagle Outfitters. Her choice of accessories was the key aspect that made her outfit have a bohemian flair. She accessorized with ethnic jewelry, such as a hemp necklace, silver rings, ankle bracelets and light pink stud earrings. This Fashionista also chose to wear a braided brown belt and she topped off the ensemble with beautiful white and turquoise sandals that she purchased while on a trip to Lebanon.

This Fashionista’s look is a great example of an outfit you can easily put together during the summer. It is simple and comfortable at the same time. Tie-front tops are an iconic 1950s trend that has made a comeback this summer. Tie-front tops come in a variety of styles and they are also incredibly versatile because you can pair them up with your favorite maxi skirt, high-waisted shorts and trousers. You can also layer them on top of a blouse or tank top. One of the good things about this blouse trend is that you also have the option of choosing to bear you midriff or not. It all comes down to how you style the blouse.

If you would like to purchase a tie-front top similar to this Fashionista’s, PacSun has a great selection. If you want something more vibrant and daring this tie-front tropical print shirt from Urban Outfitters would look great with a pair of dolphin hem denim cut-off shorts from Free People. Forever 21 and ASOS also have a vast selection of tie-front tops.
