STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: The Sport of Fashion

The Fourth of July has come and gone and now we are getting into the dog days of summer. The heat, the barbecues, the spontaneous sports games and the outdoor fun are here to stay for awhile. What better way to be prepared for anything by having an outfit that completely molds to the occasion!?

Our Fashionista knows how to transition between events with her leather trimmed sporty skirt. She pairs it with a denim shirt tied at the bottom, metallic bag and adorable sandals.

Why can’t fashion be a little sporty too? ┬áRecently we have seen some designers incorporate a more boyish or sporty look to their runway shows. One designer that comes to mind is DKNY who, this past fall, released a line of sporty looking clothes that included bathing suit tops, mesh skirts and a sneaker-looking heel.
This Fashionista is fully prepared to go from a shopping day trip, to a backyard barbecue, to a beach volleyball game and still look adorable the whole time. She successfully incorporated the ever-so-popular denim shirt into her look as well as some cute summer sandals.
You could create this look yourself a couple different ways; the first being a do-it-yourself project. You could find a cute and comfortable tennis skirt at your local sports store and embellish it yourself. You could do leather trim or a lace decoration on the hip or even create a fringed or lace bottom to your skirt.
The second way to recreate this Fashionista’s look is to start with a denim shirt and tie it at the bottom. Then find a cute and comfortable sporty skirt and pair it with a brightly colored bag and some summer sandals to polish it off.┬áSo try out this sporty spontaneous look for yourselves and see how much fun you can have!
