We always question what our parents wore when they were young, yet we have similar items in our closet that are secretly some of our favorite pieces. Madonna created a buzz with her outfit choices and this Fashionista is very reminiscent of that style icon.
Today's Fashionista wore lace fingerless gloves, a short-sleeved black and white polka dot shirt, contrasting leggings, leg warmers and TOMS shoes. Everything about this outfit reminded me of the '80s, but rejuvenated. I liked the contrasting patterns of the shirt with the leggings, which had tiny flowers on them and were only noticeable with a closer look. Black is a color that will always be in. Adding a pop of color to a mostly black ensemble helps to break up the darkness and let the wearer’s personality shine through.
The addition of the legwarmers and the Ray Ban sunglasses, or Ray Ban-like sunglasses, give this outfit an edgy punch to it and makes people do a double take to see what this Fashionista is really wearing. Adding a studded leather jacket would have taken this outfit to a whole new level, also making this outfit ready for nightlife.
