The tribal trend is great to try if you are not afraid of bold prints. Regarded as one of the latest key trends, it has been spotted amongst high end names from Versace to L.A.M.B. However much I've been wanting to capture this trend, though, I'll admit it isn't easy to come across, as it is a very specific look. I assume it may be considered difficult to pull off or just may not suit everyone's tastes. When I saw this week's Fashionista, I was very impressed by the impact of her printed scarf. It was the first element I noticed from her otherwise discreet ensemble and was, without fail, her outfit's main attention grabber.
The Fashionista's use of the tribal print is inspiring; she shows that when dealing with such a bold and colourful print, something as simple as an accessory is enough to make a statement. In this case, she channels the trend through a long scarf — a great trick to add not just the print, but also texture and movement, to her outfit. The scarf's length is not the only factor that allows its design to stand out, however. indeed, the Fashionista chose to wear it with a simple black outfit — the perfect canvas for playing with prints. I also loved that, as the cherry on the cake, she adds character to her on-trend look with a classic pair of Dr. Martens.
This Fashionista bought her scarf at Primark, but a wide variety of other brands have also recently fallen the trend. For printed scarves like this Fashionista's, try this colourful Forever 21 scarf or this cashmere scarf from NET-A-PORTER. On hotter days, opt for these lovely beaded ALDO sandals or this Forever 21 necklace instead. Mix some accessories together for a full-on take on the trend, but follow this Fashionista and do not overdo it.
