STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Boho Chic

Every girl has one of “those” days when they do not want to put effort in their attire. This is the day when you just want to throw on sweat pants and a hoodie and you are set for the day. Well, I am telling you to put the sweatpants and hoodie down and opt for another effortless look and you will look amazing in. From boho headbands to gypsy boho, ‘boho chic’ is the latest trend that I fall on when I have one of “those” days.

This Fashionista is the true definition of ‘boho chic’. She is wearing a vintage tribal print sweater that she borrowed from her grandpa. Also, I love how she paired her vintage swing sweater with her three-layer fringe suede boots that caught my eye when I found this Fashionista walking across campus. She kept the rest of her look simple by wearing a white V-neck top with blue jeans. This Fashionista definitely looked effortlessly amazing on this day.

If you want to add some boho chic pieces to your closet, try this scoop neck fringe sweater by Lucky Brand for a classic go-to piece to your everyday look. If you are looking for some shoes, add these fringe wedge booties to your closet for when you are feeling daring. If you are feeling really lazy on a random day, rock this swing sweater from Quiksilver with a plain top and you are ready to go along with your day. Even though you are having one of “those” days, you look does not have to show it.

STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Boho Chic

What is so great about fashion is that it is the ultimate way to express yourself. You can show off your favorite colors, your preferred music genre, and even what kind of mood you're in. As we evolve and mature through our fashion phases, we realize that there's more to a perfect wardrobe than one single color, brand, or style. Most of us aren't just preppy, rocker-esque, or sporty; many of us are a plethora of different qualities.

What we see on today's Fashionista is a modern indie-yet-still-preppy look. Her off the shoulder tee and preppy denim shorts from Express set the scene for a classic look. The summery Burberry flats, while adding to the classic theme, add some excitement to the otherwise simple fashion. In order to shy away from the expected, she chose to put a spin on her ensemble by adding a bit of boho spice. The ongoing trend of a headband worn nontraditionally across the forehead has been a popular look- often seen on celebrities who rock the indie style, such as Mary Kate Olsen and Nicole Richie. Today's Fashionista not only sports this trend, but pairs it with a loose braid to add a romantic twist. The boho look is completed with gold and wooden beaded bracelets. And as we see here, the versatile and practical aviator sunglasses, like always, can be put atop of any ensemble.

Mixing different styles is no longer a fashion faux pas. Remember my favorite piece of modern fashion advice? "Patterns are magical and clashing is an outdated concept." Let your personality dress you, and the rest will be taken care of.
