A trend I’ve seen come full force this semester is bright bottoms, particularly of the skinny jean variety. I love the way they make such a bold statement but are still really easy to wear. This Fashionista’s red skinnies are great. While I’ve seen quite a few girls in similar ones, I was particularly drawn to these because they’re just so bright. I also like how she paired her stand out skinnies perfectly with a nude blouse that subtly echoes the red in her pants. To get the same look, you can’t be afraid to stand out. Really go for a punch of color and try something like these crimson jeans from Free People. Opting for a wide-leg pant instead is a fabulous way to wear this trend for a more dressed up look. Pants like these from Express are a great pop of color and pick up on the 70’s inspired trends that were all over the runways this season.
If red really isn’t your color, there are still a ton of other bright, eye-catching options to look at. I’m obsessed with these trouser-style skinnys from J.Crew. They come in classic colors but also have an impressive variety of jewel tones. The teal and mustard versions are my favorite. Take a cue from this week’s Fashionista and pair your new bold bottoms with a simple, but flowy top. Not only does a subtler hue compliment the brightness of the pants but also a looser blouse plays nicely against the proportions of the thin line you’re creating with the skinny leg.
