STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Bring On The Blazers

Not long ago, blazers were a fashion item associated directly with business women. The blazer trend has been growing because Fashionistas have been finding various different ways to make them work with their outfits, outside of the office setting.

This week’s Fashionista is demonstrating a casual, comfortable, and chic way to wear a blazer on campus. Our Fashionista is sporting a black blazer over a plain white top and pairing the simple combo with some tribal pattern leggings and different accessories that result in a casual, but super trendy look to wear on campus this spring.

The best thing about the blazer is that there are tons of different, traditional, and unique ways to wear it, and not looking like a business woman. Adding a blazer to certain outfits can alter the entire look, mostly in positive ways. Throwing on a blazer, depending on the color or pattern, can simply make your outfit more chic; Accessorizing will always make it even better. I'm obsessed with all of the different kinds of blazers that Nasty Gal has, and they even show trendy ways to pair the certain items with.

Just like today's Fashionista is demonstrating, adding a blazer over a top and leggings can even transform a simple and comfortable outfit. Other ways to wear blazers in substitution of jackets and sweater include: with skirts, jeans, pants, shorts, dresses; there are just so many combos to experiment with. Blazers can be worn casually, for example, at school or when runnings errands. They can even be worn when going out, for example, to a bar, club, party, out to dinner, etc.

Blazers are a must-have for your closet this spring; at least one simple black one. Wearing hoodies every day makes you look like you put in no effort when dressing yourself and some jackets may be too hot for the Arizona weather over here. Therefore, blazers are the perfect cover up for the occasional cooler days this spring.
