I’ve always wondered why most jeans come in the color blue, or to say the least, come in different shades and contrasts of blue when there are seven colors on the rainbow and hundreds of others on the color wheel. One trend I’ve been noticing amongst campus goers are colored jeans — finally!
I remember seeing the trend a while back, probably seven years ago, but it quickly disappeared. Luckily enough, it has made its return. The Fashionista shown above is wearing mint-colored jeans, the color everyone is currently loving, and a graphic shirt with abstract print.
Notice how some of the prints on her top are similar to the color of her jeans – a perfect match! With a daring piece like this, paying close attention to what colors you want your jeans to go with is essential because you wouldn’t want to come to class looking like you’ve just gotten out of a box of crayons.
To achieve other varieties of this look, try wearing it with a floral blouse or if you insist on putting on a shirt, add a vest to complement the look and add texture. Another way to sport this trend is to try out more colors — pink, yellow and mint being the hottest for this season.
On the other hand, if you want to play it safe, take baby steps and choose pastel colors over the ones that lean towards neon. Some jeans come in faded shades or ones that are nearing white yet still have a tint of color. Trends come and go while others do make a comeback so save up some of your favorite closet pieces even if they aren’t in this season because you can never predict what comes next in fashion!
