Denim is a hit this season, but when is it not? It is back and hot just like in the '90s. It's everywhere from head to toe and street to campus. As a trend, it's acceptable to wear a little denim or a lot of denim. This is something to splurge on!
Today’s Fashionista got her denim fix by adding a denim button–up to her outfit. Along with the shirt she is wearing a white blouse and a black fringe skirt. With help from her accessories, the denim makes this look unique and more casual than if she just wore the blouse and skirt. A button–up like the one worn by today’s fashionista can be kind of plain but the way she tied it at the waist and rolled up her sleeves shows more of her personality.
The greatest quality of denim is its versatility. It can be worn anywhere on the body and look just about fabulous. Shoes, jackets, skirts, shorts, vests, bandeaus and even bathing suits can contribute to a fashionable denim look.
Everyone has a pair of jeans and we’ve been wearing them since the mid-1800s when Levi Brand Jeans made their debut. Every season, hot or cold, this denim scion makes it into our wardrobes as a main staple.
Denim can be embellished, put through different washes, and it can be altered in many different ways for a unique style. I love destroyed denim the most. There is nothing like a pair of ripped jeans on a hot summer day, and any trend can be paired with them.
One of my favorite fashion finds this summer has to be sparkle on denim. These American Eagle shorts keep you feeling and looking cool while having fun in the sun.
Add some denim to your summer look. The best part is when summer's over, your denim frenzy doesn’t have to be: it will never go out of style.
Denim always brings thoughts of shorts, comfort and summer time in Texas or any American city for that matter. It makes me nostalgic thinking of kicking back in the bed of a truck with summer love looming in the air and looking up at the big Lone Star sky, nonetheless this Fashionista caught my eye walking down the boardwalk at the beach. Her look was my absolute favorite and gave just a touch of American girl with a beachy flair.
My favorite part of her look was the light cowboy denim top she wore, a nice contrast to the darker bottoms. Now you may be thinking denim is a thing from the past, but denim is clearly a big fashion staple this summer as featured in Vogue UK. The pearl snaps and pockets brought in the Texas touch while the big white sunhat was a perfect beach piece. The floppy hat is classic and could be rocked in just about any color like this black one featured in another Style Guru's post earlier this summer. The cut-off denim shorts are perfect for the heated weather or even a creative way to add some flair to a beach swimsuit cover up. Always remember to mix and match the tones of denim too not make it too overpowering and just in case your a bit skeptical, InStyle has some great tips on wearing denim.
Denim. Simple, versatile and unique are some words that may come to mind instantly. Denim first became popular in the 1950s among youth who were attempting to rebel against the typical, run of the mill fashion. It was the symbol of rebellion; Rebel Without a Cause and The Wild One created an image of difference and originality. Then, in the 1960s and 1970s, denim began to follow the trend of '60s fashions: painted jeans, and even embroidered denim.
Denim has come a long way since then; it is now a common staple in any wardrobe. Denim can be worn in so many different ways: skinny, baggy, flared and especially what this week's Fashionista is sporting: high-waisted denim cut-offs. Denim cut-offs appear to be everywhere lately, yet they all are different in their own unique way. This week’s Fashionista is wearing high-waisted, frayed denim shorts paired with a simple pair of booties and a laced vest. What’s great about this particular fashion trend is that any Fashionista can make them. Simply cut a pair of an old pair of jeans, and voila! You now have a great pair of shorts.
Don’t trust yourself to make a great pair? Try these shorts, and pair them with a great pair of summer booties. To complete the look, try a longer necklace like this Fashionista did. Denim can be worn in different ways, and it’s up to each individual to find his or her perfect style. Don’t forget to experiment and have fun with all the different types of denim out there! One can never go wrong when experimenting with originality.
