STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Don

This last weekend I color-coded my closet. Don’t ask me why I decided to do this, but I highly recommend it! Not only is it a great way to pass the time, but also you may surprise yourself when you see what colors you wear the most. Apparently the majority of my clothes are black, white and blue, so this week I went out in search of some colorful inspiration.

This week’s Fashionista has got color and isn’t afraid to use it! I love the way she puts together her red printed jacket and tank top with black shorts and fringe sandals. Her outfit is bold and fun to look at, yet at the same time not too aggressive. This Fashionista’s look takes charge, and I couldn’t help but snap a picture.

Summer is a great time for experimentation. Whether you are trying a new style, color or cut, it is important to step out of your comfort zone and try something totally new! Bright reds and coral are eye-catching and bold yet also playful and fun. If you are anything like me and your wardrobe tends to be more neutral colored, mix in some fun brightly colored pieces in to take your look up a notch! This ruffle top will absolutely brighten up your average pair of black shorts.

To achieve the same heat that this week’s Fashionista’s outfit has try this v-neck cropped top or this sleeveless sweater over a tank top or bandeau bra. If you want to incorporate color in a more subtle way, this silk safari shirt in red hibiscus is a great update on the military look with its bright hue. Be bold this summer and try something new, don’t be afraid to use that color!
