STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Fashion for Fall Festivals

Attending Lollapalooza and Pitchfork this summer gave me a feel for style at summer festivals, but when they transition into fall, you can no longer wear summer dresses and gladiator sandals. Instead, you should be wearing lace-up boots, high-waisted skinny jeans, and mini cross-body satchels. For some lace-up boots, head to Cactus Flower if you're in Bloomington, but if not, obsess over these: memory floral boots from Topshop, taupe victorian floral Dr. Martens, and Jeffrey Campbell two-tone romper boots.  Local boutique Cha Cha has some of the cutest handbags in town, but I love this tossle front box bag from TopShop and this Marc by Marc Jacobs cross body bag. And, to finish off your accessories, wear a pair of these high-waisted 70s jeans or these high-waisted side zipper pants in posy please! Oh and on top, flannels will never fail Fashionistas in the fall, so stock up.

Hint: Here are a couple looks from Fashionistas at the Lotus Music and Arts Festival that took place Sept. 16-18 in Bloomington, Ind. Be on the lookout for festivals or concerts on your campus and if you're in the Bloomington area, don't miss out on seeing Big Boi, Yeasayer and Passion Pit perform this semester.
