When I was growing up, the only people I ever saw wearing large amounts of leather were bikers riding along on their motorcycles. Because of this stereotype I always tended to shy away from leather clothing, thinking that I would be much more hardcore than my outfit allowed. Fortunately, I have since modified my thought process and have begun to realize what a fabulous asset leather can be to your outfit. Whether you’re wearing a simple leather jacket or a full leather dress, leather is certainly on the comeback. It can be a great accessory to your outfit (i.e.boots and belts) or it can define your outfit, like it does this Fashionista’s.
Though this Fashionista’s outfit is quite simple, she adds a lot of accents to make it more exciting. She is wearing over the knee boots, which have become increasingly popular this winter. She is also sporting an infinity scarf, which is another must-have in a Fashionista’s closet (both for warmth and for looks). Lastly, and most importantly, she’s wearing a brown leather jacket that pulls the whole outfit together.
Not only is leather fashionable and attractive, it is actually incredibly warm because of its lack of pores. If you want to go all out on a leather jacket, this one from Joie would be a great investment. On the other hand, if you like the look but would prefer to not go for real leather this H&M jacket is a great alternative.
Often times, I also feel that I have way too many coats, jackets and vests. If you feel the same way, you could always go for a different leather article of clothing. There are pants, dresses, shorts, skirts and even more quiet accessories like these earrings or this bow for your hair. No matter what the occasion, you can always add a little leather to your look without over doing it. Now that there are so many options of what leather you can wear, there’s no reason for any Fashionista to not have some in her wardrobe!
