STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Mixing Business with Pleasure

There is nothing better than taking a brightly colored statement piece and adding a classic blazer to it to create a sophisticated outfit. Mixing business with pleasure shows you like to have fun but can also be a little serious (if need be.)

Patterned and/or colored tights add texture to any outfit. They are the perfect accessories for an outfit in need of some extra pop, all the while keeping it classy. If a skirt happens to be a bit too short, add some tights to help with that bare feeling. Tights also go great under shorts. When it is a bit too cold out for just a pair of shorts, throw on a pair of tights underneath to give yourself a little extra warmth and style. This Fashionista added a pair of light blue tights with diamonds to accent the blues and patterns in her dress. The combination is fun and creative while being weather appropriate as Eugene is often gloomy.

The Fashionista’s oxford shoes go nicely with the business-esque look going on here. The oxford shoes add a sense of seriousness and sophistication to an otherwise fun and lighthearted dress. The black belt is a great buffer for the dress. It helps to add a break in the pattern making it less overwhelming. Adding a belt to any overly patterned piece will help break it up.This Fashionista paired her outfit with a classic pair of double C Chanel diamond earrings, adding the final touch of sophistication to this outfit.

Remember to have some fun with those sophisticated pieces!

Stepping out of his winter internship dressed to impress the corporate world and a perfect dose of self expression. Work with deep red wood colors this winter. It’s ok to work with different textures whether is soft scarves, knit cardigans, tough jackets, smooth leathers or even faux animal fur. It all blends together super well once you have your complementing colors worked out.

Hint: Oxford shoes are perfect for guys that want a pair of fashionable foot apparel.
