Growing up in the South, we take a few things for granted. We think that a forty-degree day is freezing and that Chik-Fil-A is, well, everywhere. There is one trend that we never take for granted, though. Actually, I truly believe every girl (and possibly boy) on Wofford’s campus owns one of these: a flannel button-down lumberjack shirt.
Now, I know what you may be thinking: a flannel? And I agree; a flannel button down shirt with a pair of jeans and UGGS isn’t my idea of stylish either. Yet this CollegeFashionista pairs her button-down with a J. Crew puffer vest, a pair of well-fitting black jeans and some slick nude flats. Effortless and stylish, I thought she was the perfect representation of Wofford campus style.
Revamping something that may seem “blah” in your wardrobe is easy, if you have the right accessories. Take this flannel shirt, for instance. Adding an extra layer on top of it, like a vest or even a workman jacket, can change the style, and wearing shape-enhancing pants also accentuates the silhouette of the body. Something that I consider a fashion staple this year, nude shoes, can easily take your outfit from passé to stylish in an instant. Whether it be for this outfit or maybe one later, invest in some great nude shoes this season to pull all your looks together.
We all may take a few things for granted, but don’t let that flannel shirt be one of them!
