As the weather grows cooler and the leaves start changing colors, the Fashionista tends to conjure up images of buying a pumpkin spice latte in Starbucks and bringing out our massive collection of scarves from last winter (when did I ever where that?!). But luckily, for those of us living in Hotlanta, we don't have to worry about those wintery clichés quite yet. We're in a weather transition, but kind of an odd one. It's been hot, cold, sunny, rainy, windy… all in one day lately. And with fall and winter clothes making their debut in stores, while temperatures can soar up to 80 degrees, what is the Emory fashionista to do?
This college fashionista pulls off the outfit for schizophrenic weather perfectly. The short sleeve patterned crop top works perfectly with the thick, black leggings and light brown riding boots. However, the look that really pulls the outfit together is the tribal print on the top. While tribal prints seemed to be everywhere this summer, it doesn’t look like this native look is going anywhere anytime soon. The earthy and neutral colors blend perfectly from season to season, while the print has just enough of the “cool” factor to keep it interesting.
The switch to a cooler (literally) look with the tribal prints is to pair the top with dark jeans or leggings (like this fashionista) or earth toned bottoms (like an earthy red or blue) if you’re a bit more adventurous. If you want to go more polished, the riding boots and gold jewelry are perfect. Gladiator sandals or fringed boots with brown jewelry would definitely give you a more bohemian vibe.
As for me? I'm going to pray that it stays warm a little longer in order to squeeze out as much Atlanta warmth as I can… and maybe because I refuse to sift through all my old scarves quite yet.
