I'll let the snow do the talking: winter is here. The less than dainty dusting of snow that swept across the Northeast this past weekend is reason enough to bundle in warm wool and cry over photos of summers past. Wipe those teary eyes, and remember that while frolicking on sandy beaches is fun, dressing for winter is equally amusing.
I spotted this Fashionista on her way to class. Dressed in casual jeans and black leather boots, she doesn't sacrifice her comfort for refinement. Leather boots are somewhat a winter staple: they defend any stylish student's legs from cold winds while deeming any outfit refined.
What stood out most about this Fashionista's ensemble, however, was definitely her jacket. While the complementary aspects of her outfit are subtle and simple, her jacket's exaggerated accents allow it to shine. I kept my eyes peeled, and noticed that certain accentuations of the jacket are unconventional and special. This jacket's collar, slightly larger in proportion to the rest of the coat, individualizes the garment. The large buttons that run up the front of her jacket are also distinct. The buttons are larger than most coat's toggles, and in this respect, they make the coat more special. The final standout element of this Fashionista's jacket is the cropped sleeves. All three elements of her jacket; the exaggerated collar, big buttons and abbreviated sleeves, coalesce to create a unique overcoat and ensemble.
This winter, opt for a less conventional coat to diversify and individualize any outfit. Jackets, like this Zara leopard print coat, are unexpectedly different than the regimented black puffer. In an army of black down, stand out in an eclectic coat!
