STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Rethinking Your Red, White & Blue

The Fourth of July is a favorite American holiday for most CollegeFashionistas.  It's a great weekend to spend with family and loved ones and enjoy the rays of summer. While many think it's the one and only day that the red-white-and-blue color scheme is appropriate, I think it is a year round look that can be appreciated in any season. So, let's not feel obligated to done the traditional american-flag regime. Shake up your reds, whites, and blues by spicing it up with turquoises, golds, and fire reds like today's Fashionista. I caught her at festival over the weekend and thought this is an ideal look for Fourth of July.

Her silky red dress was offset by bold, funky jewelry. Her neutral accessories made her look bohem-chic and ready for any festivity of Fourth of July. Whether at a bbq or on a yacht, she would glow in the evening's fireworks and not blend in the with table skirts.

May I suggest some last minute buys for your Day of Independence, Fashionista/os?

Hint: Start off with a statement color with great texture like this Shopbop Tank Dress. Accessorize it with fun hues of red, white, or blue, like this vintage ribbon bracelet and a complimentary companion.
