I first started seeing high-low dresses around during last prom season, when a lot of girls were trying to get the best of both worlds — a short dress and a long gown, all in one! What I love about high-low dresses is that they have a certain elegance and flair that other dresses don’t.
This Fashionista wore this chiffon salmon-colored high-low dress with a belt and summer wedges. I love how the woven belt and wedges dressed down the dress, which could have been a too fancy to wear around campus otherwise. Even though the material is on the dressier side, it doesn’t look too over the top.
Chiffon is definitely one of my favorite materials for tops and for dresses. Instead of the regular cotton material, chiffon makes any outfit just a little bit nicer and more put together. Plus, it’s easy to throw on a nice chiffon top and a pair of jeans and be good to go!
Woven belts are one of my favorite accessories this summer and I’m sure I’ll be wearing them this fall too. Neutral colors, like tan and brown can be paired with any outfit. I like to wear them with jeans or high-waisted shorts and tuck my top in to let the belt peek out.
I admire girls that walk around campus in wedges or heels as I have never dared to myself! It might not be practical but I do feel like heels look fantastic, even with a casual outfit. I definitely wouldn’t recommend wearing your party heels to class, but casual wedges or boots with a small heel are great for when you need a little bit more confidence on campus!
