The spring sun has finally arrived and the outfits on campus surely reflected that. When it hits the 70-degree mark at Marist, campus becomes what we call “Marist Beach.” Everyone sits outside to bathe in the sun, enjoying music and games while showing off the latest sunglasses and dresses. As I sat in the sun trying to study for midterms, I instead fixated on today's Fashionista's amazing hat. Floppy and unique, the hat was fashionably functional for the weather.
I'm so happy that hats are back and trendier than ever. Hats carry so much attitude and add automatic spunk to any outfit. A fedora, beret or sun hat can bring a simple outfit to a whole other level. Today's Fashionista wore black leggings, a red button-down and chic sandals. The Fashionista looked stylish and practical with her backpack, coffee and the perfect sun hat.
Hats exude early 20th century glamour. Feminine and classy, a beach hat is an essential for any preppy and traditional Fashionista. The wonderfully vintage ModCloth has a variety of headwear that's sure to make you stand out. The French Riviera hat is stunning and would look perfect with a classic white blouse tied in the front paired with a maxi skirt and sandals. A classic button-down is also perfect with a bold hat. The breezy button-down from Urban Outfitters is strikingly similar to the Fashionista's and would be perfect with cutoff shorts and the pioneer hat. Be daring with your headwear and dress like you're hiding from the paparazzi. A sun hat like today's Fashionista's is sure to make any outfit original.
