STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Shorts in October

Was anyone else pleasantly surprised by the balmy 90-degree heat wave in Maryland? This throws us all for a loop because we have just finished packing away our summer clothes and happily jumped into our newest boots, sweaters, cargos and jeans. Well, now it's time to unpack those summer clothes and wear them for just awhile longer. I spotted this Fashionista on her way to class in the 90-degree heat and felt summer lovin’. Her strapless pink, purple and orange paisley and floral shirt brought me back to summertime BBQ’s and carefree beach days. Purchased at Target technically as a skirt, this Fashionista opted to convert it into a strapless flowy top for the warm heat wave. Her vintage leather biker vest incorporated the latest fall trends while dressing appropriate for the weather.

The combination of biker chic with girly and floral made this outfit fun, flirty and a perfect way to bring back summer clothes in the middle of October. Cuffed denim shorts are always a staple for any Fashionista and paired with gold sandals from J. Crew, she fashionably avoided overheating her feet on her walk across campus. A great accent to her outfit was her sentimental necklaces adopted from her mom’s own wardrobe. The two Robert Lee Morris leather corded gold hearts brought the outfit together. An oversized Foley & Corinna black and gold city tote is a great way to carry your books in style. Throw on a pair of large shield D&G sunglasses and you’ll be ready to fight the strong sun. Enjoy the warm summer weather in the middle of fall Fashionistas and Fashionistos!
