Since the 1960s, animal print has become an enormous hit in fashion and is still trending today. On the spring/summer 2012 runways, the big cat trend was larger than ever. A different variation of designers decided to take a risk and embrace these wild animals and ethnic prints. According to Vogue, these designers followed the Afrocentric trend by making the big cats the trend this season. When I first spotted this Fashionista, I instantly thought of the jungle. Her look reminded me of the wilderness and the different wild animals that live in that environment. From fast cheetahs to black leopards, these wild animals were most definitely shown love this season on the runways.

This Fashionista would most definitely take the crown as Queen of the Jungle in these amazing cheetah shorts from Forever 21. I love how she kept the rest of her outfit simple by pairing these shorts with a black top, Armani Exchange sunglasses and white flip flops. The other thing that stood out in her look besides those cat printed shorts was her amazing white messenger bag that she found at a thrift store in Mexico.  This Fashionista loves the big cat trend and you can too.

If you want to embrace the Afrocentric trend that designers have been embracing, there are several ways to do so.
