Spring break is over, Fashionistas and Fashionistos, and we are left feeling rejuvenated and ready to finish the school year off with a bang…for about fifteen minutes of our first power lecture back. It seems like a mad dash until the end now, and it’s easy to slack and cut corners on homework, extra projects, and, most importantly, our wardrobes. As fashion lovers, we never really feel fully productive or completely capable without a fabulous ensemble, so once we let our wardrobes start to slide, the rest of our lives follow suit and seem to fall apart immediately. When I spotted this completely fabulous Fashionista, she informed me that she had gotten only a couple hours of sleep the night before and had given a huge presentation that day, and yet she looked this pulled together and totally cool. If she could look this good after such hard work, the rest of us don’t have any excuses!
Pull yourself together in the morning and you’re bound to feel more marvelous and productive all day long. Trompe l’oeil, French for “deceive the eye,” is an optical illusion where objects appear to be three dimensional on some kind of two dimension object. It’s a super fun trend to try out when it appears on clothing, like on this Fashionista’s sweater. To emulate her look, this trompe l’oeil romper would look adorable with a white button-up layered underneath it. Accessorize with lace up boots and a Chanel-like purse (and if you have the means, why not Chanel itself?!). Finish everything off with a long black jacket. Productivity has never looked so refreshing and fabulous.
