Every season, fashion editors and stylists scramble to find the newest breakout accessories to adorn their glossy magazine pages and clients, respectively. While nothing is as exciting as witnessing the entrance of accessories in unprecedented shapes and forms, there is also nothing as loved as a printed scarf. It should come as no surprise that scarves have become a staple in everyone’s closet – it’s easy, versatile and arguably the easiest way to change up any look.
There are a plethora of different scarf prints out there, ranging from bold stripes to fun polka dots. However, my all-time favorite has been floral. A great floral scarf can be added onto your breezy summer dresses for an extra layer of soft femininity, but it can also be used to soften up a tougher look. This Fashionista nicely demonstrates the latter by pairing her favorite turquoise and pink floral fringed scarf with a black leather jacket, skinny pants and buckled combat boots. Although there are many elements that create this outfit, the look appears effortless, while also showing just how much a patterned scarf can jazz up an otherwise typical outfit.
I’m sure you all have at least one floral scarf hanging in your closet, but if you are looking to expand your collection, be sure to check out J. Crew’s little sister store, Madewell, which offers a beautiful selection of springtime-appropriate scarves. I particularly like this Garden Gallery Scarf and Juniper Rose Scarf in Mauve Red, both of which would look so chic paired with a flowy white top, your favorite denim cutoffs, a classic pair of aviator sunglasses. Another possibility are these Frenchi Lightweight Print Scarves from Nordstrom. Regardless of what you pick, you will certainly be making a worthy investment. These pieces will last you year after year, and will continually be a great outlet to show some personality and flair.
