STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Time To Edit Your All-Black Wardrobe

Even though winter in Arizona isn’t really considered a real winter during this time of year, the fashion trends seem to be speaking for themselves on campus. Most Fashionistas that I’ve seen still seem to be in their winter blues stage, which normally includes dark bottoms, dark boots and dark tops (don’t get me wrong, that is my personal favorite combo).

This Fashionista stood out to me because she did something a little different that made her outfit pop. Since she spent the entire day at school, she wanted to be comfortable. She is wearing basic black leggings with knee high black leather boots, a long black cardigan and her loose fitting tie-die top which stood out to me. Wearing all black mutes the rest of the outfit and makes her fun printed top become the main focus, so it pops the most.

If you love wearing all or mostly black, like me, then every so often this will be a good look for you to switch it up a bit while still being comfortable (which is the most important thing to me when I’m on campus all day). If you’re looking to add a subtle pop of color to your outfit, a couple printed tanks are the perfect addition to your wardrobe. This Fashionista is only wearing three different colors: black, white and yellow — but the tie-die detail gives an illusion that there is a lot more going on. More detail equals more excitement.

Recreating this look is fairly easy. Above I have listed exactly what she is wearing, but now I will tell you where to get some tops like this. This Fashionista purchased her top at H&M, but another popular and inexpensive store would be Forever 21. There are tons of clothes at that store and they are constantly changing weekly, so I’m sure almost anyone and everyone can find something for their particular style.

So if you are the kind of person that wears sweats or leggings to school, and want to do something different with your wardrobe without actually getting dressed up, adding a little bit of color can make all of the difference !
