Blazers have been a wardrobe staple for a while now, but this season designers are taking them to all new heights. Fall runways were chock full of all different textures, colors and cuts. Designers debuted gorgeous blazers with new accents, like Helmut Lang's sleek leather sleeves. Ralph Lauren's runway featured classic blazers in jewel tone velvet and Jason Wu gave his blazers an edge with beautiful fur trim. Lanvin, Michael Kors and alice + olivia were just a few of the dozens of designers who decided to spice up their blazers with bouclé and tweed.
This week’s Fashionista gave her classic navy blazer a feminine touch with a textured white blouse and a pink statement necklace. She balanced the look with skinny jeans and brown leather boots.
If you prefer the more classic look like this Fashionista, try this blazer from Tobi. Keep the rest of your look simple with jeans and flats or boots, but avoid your outfit falling flat by adding pop of color with a bright blouse or statement necklace. Boyfriend blazers also come in a great classic shape but are more menswear inspired. This blazer from Urban Outfitters comes in so many fun colors, and would look great with jeans or thrown over a dress when the weather gets chilly. This season is all about being bold so don’t feel like you need to stick with basic black. Snag a blazer in a fun print or bright color to really make a statement. If you want something a little different try this bouclé and tweed blazer from H&M. The gorgeous fabric adds texure and interest to your look and would be a great way to spice up a simple white T-shirt and jeans. Or toss it over your favorite little black dress to add a fresh twist. Color blocking is also making a huge appearance in blazers this season, and the fun look is a great way to take your look from ordinary to unexpected. Whatever your style there is a blazer for you this season. When shopping this season try to be a little adventurous and don't shy away from bold prints, different fits and fun textures. Remember Fashionistas, it is our duty to be trend-setters and blaze the trail for others!
