STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Tucked and Tight

Like most Fashionistas this past season I was all about the oversized boyfriend look. From jeans and shorts, to blazers and flannels, almost everything I put on my body was loose fitting and a little baggy (aside from my leggings of course!) Now, although I still love my boyfriend jeans and my loose, off-the-shoulder T-shirts, this season I have been sporting a ‘tighter’ ensemble.

Bandage skirts and high waist shorts have become my go to pieces this season, and have both become two of my major staples in my wardrobe. For a night out with my girlfriends I have been pairing my bandage skirts with satin tanks, lace crop tops, and ‘boxy’ tops. For everyday looks I have been tucking my burn out tanks, and even some of my plaid button downs from fall, into my high waist shorts, completing my look with a fabulous belt. This Fashionista paired her high waist dark denim shorts with a gold and navy animal inspired blouse. She accessorized with a pair of cream sandals, and a gold necklace complete with bows and a fur ball, creating the perfect daytime ensemble.

Now, have no fear, you can still incorporate your favorite boyfriend pieces into this tighter look. For example, pair your favorite bandage skirt with a tight fitting tank and your boyfriend blazer. For high-waist shorts, choose a short with a longer leg to create the boyfriend look. Pair those shorts with a basic cotton tank, a skinny belt, and a pair of oxfords!
