STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Tweet + Fur

Fur and tweed are not an easy feat, even more so when you put the two together. Remember the models covered head to toe in them at the Chanel a/w 2010? Exactly. This Fashionista, however, proves that the impossible is possible without having to don a pair of fur pants. A black and fuchsia tweed coat looks fresh after seeing so much black and gray this winter. She bought her coat in Korea but don’t fret, there are many options out there including this one (with a fur collar!) from Anthropologie. If a tweed coat isn’t your style try a skirt, like this one with green piping from J.Crew, or a jacket like the appropriately named Coco Tweed Jacket from Free People.

Layered in black this Fashionista opted for furry extras as seen in her ballet flats and even in her earrings. The trick in trying to mix two completely different textures is keeping it simple. Don’t go overboard, let one item stand out alone and then add one or two accessories here and there. This winter try some fur on your sweater, a fur clutch, or just a slouchy beanie hat with a furball on top (all from Topshop).

Remember, nothing is impossible in fashion, just wear it your way.
