It’s definitely begun to warm up here in Tempe and with the changing seasons comes changing wardrobes. We’re beginning to see bare arms and legs around campus in an effort to keep cool. In addition to higher hemlines, there’s also been a rush of white clothing being worn. It’s a trend that’s right on cue with designers that featured white in their spring/summer 2011 collections. To be more specific though, the new must have item for spring is a classic white dress.
This week’s featured Fashionista is wearing a lovely spring dress in white. The dress has a lace bodice and flowing waist for extra movement. The tank style gives her freedom to move about the day and keeps her cool in this sunny weather. She accessorizes sparingly to avoid outshining the simplicity of the dress. She’s matched her dress with some chocolate brown cowboy boots that add a southwestern charm and act as an unexpected surprise as you look down at her feet. It’s a fresh, young and carefree look.
To recreate this look, I’ve found several awesome options as far as white dresses go. This white dress with light peach colored stripes from Nasty Gal features cut out sides and a twist detail in the front. This dress from ASOS features a plunge neckline, long sleeves and a skirted silhouette that is much like the featured Fashionista’s. Another option is this breezy shirt dress from Urban Outfitters with pocket detail and rolled sleeves. In keeping with the white theme, splurging on these white suede Jeffrey Campbell wedges would be a lovely match to any of these all-white options.
