Hi, my name is Lindsay Sustarsic and I am a rising junior at GWU. Between growing up in the beachside, urban community of Los Angeles and attending college in DC, I would consider my sense of trend to be greatly influenced by this bicoastal lifestyle. I love the fashion influences of the So Cal surf culture and edgy trends of the Hollywood streets. Venturing east, I have enjoyed melding these trends with the classic, preppy DC style. Entering college, I had an internship with a Los Angeles based global fashion brand . I was exposed to trend forecasting and the full product cycle from concept to execution through working with the buying/merchandising, visual, planning, and allocation departments. Last summer, I interned for the same brand in the special events and marketing departments where I helped plan events on both coasts, including NYC and Rodeo Drive’s Fashions Night Out. During my sophomore year, I worked for a popular clothing boutique that caters to a wide age and style demographic. These experiences have greatly contributed to my passion for this industry. My greatest fashion inspirations have come from celebrities such as Alison Mosshart, Kate Moss, and Blake Lively, all of whom are known for their individualized look. This spring, I hope to be studying abroad in London, and look forward to expanding my source of influence.
