Hi, my name is Sarah Citrenbaum and i'm a junior at GWU. After spending my summer in New York City and blogging as a Style Guru for Columbia University, I am ecstatic to be back in my hometown of DC and eager to survey the streets for amazing style. Naturally, I am captivated by clothes and appreciative of unique and individual style, thus making it impossible for me not to be a huge fashion nerd, spending more time on blogs like the Sartorialist and WhoWhatWear than I should. As for my own style, you can usually find me in dark tones paired with loud vintage accessories, bold statement necklaces, and a chunky gold mens watch. I like to play with various silhouettes and shapes and usually pair high end designer pieces with cheaper thrift store finds. My favorite designers are Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent, Diane von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs and Chloë Sevigny. They all have their own aesthetic for designing timeless pieces that translate to the masses impeccably. Their collections mix looks that are classic and refined with those that are more colorful and youthful, consistently taking risks, flirting with extremes, and reinventing trends, what fashion, and life, is really all about.
Besides fashion, I love traveling, concerts, yoga, and being with my friends. On top of writing for my favorite fashion blog this fall, I will be interning at Washington Life Magazine and taking classes related to my major and minor, Political Science with a Public Policy focus and Journalism. I plan to study abroad this spring in London or Paris. I can't wait to return to my old fashionable stomping grounds of Foggy Bottom and find inspiring looks!
