Style Guru Bio: Ali Stagnitta

Hello, my fashion lovers! My name is Ali Stagnitta and I am attending The George Washington University in Washington, DC! That’s right, I will be bringing you the hottest from one of the most fashion-forward and trendy cities in the country! Get excited! In the past, I have interned for Women’s Wear Daily magazine, reporting on DIY cosmetics, and wrote for the local newspaper in my small hometown of Skillman, New Jersey. Now, CollegeFashionista offers me a fabulous experience reporting on my true passion, fashion. Eventually, I hope to be standing on the star-studded red carpet in the middle of L.A. interviewing celebs for E!News and admiring their attire. But, until then, I will be bringing you the latest and greatest styles from the GWU college campus!

I don’t have one set style. I can rock some comfy sweats one day, a Ralph Lauren button down and Sperry’s the next, and a cropped top and jean shorts a few days later. It depends how I’m feeling that day! The most beautiful thing about fashion is that it is up to you. There is no need to have a set style and through your clothing choice you can be whoever you want to be that day! However, my go-to pieces include my crochet white Toms, Hollister jean shorts and a colorful blouse. It is both comfortable and classic, so it never goes out of style!

Lately, I’ve loved the use of statement necklaces, scarves and the color blocking technique. Each trend adds some funk and zest into simple outfits, which I am always a fan of! I love Madewell, J.Crew, Forever 21, and Free People, but am always looking out for little new boutiques with one-of-a-kind finds. I always search for the best prices and sale items and am not “all about labels.” I think “out of the box” when it comes to fashion and am always the first to try new things! As one of the most prominent people in fashion, Alexander McQueen, once said, “It’s a new era in fashion- there are no rules. It’s all about the individual and personal style, wearing high-end, low-end, classic labels, and up-and-coming designers all together.”

Don’t be afraid to try new things, and always be bold and risky. Can’t wait to show you all I have in store!
