My name is Annette Ruchala and I am currently a Junior at Arizona State University. I am currently working on a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Nutrition, although I plan on doing something fashion related with my future. Although it was too late for me to switch my major to a fashion degree, being a Style Guru for College Fashionista has opened up that window for me to really do what I love doing while being a student, and I couldn’t be more excited!
Most people that know me from high school or even from when I was very little know how much I love fashion. I have gone through some “awkward” phases with style but all these phases just gave me a perspective on all these different styles, which made me who I am now. My mom dressed me however she wanted when I was just a little girl, but growing up I have been able to express myself however I please. I feel as if personal style is so important and comes to play a big role in first expressions, for me at least.
Traveling around the world since I have been very young has opened me up to see very many different styles and trends. Keeping up with the ones I love has exposed me to the fashion world in a deeper sense and made me so much more passionate about this topic. I love seeing people who have a different, more personal fashion style and look so confident in what they are wearing because they are admired by others for their originality. This semester I will be documenting those kinds of students on campus for the rest of the world to see. Seasons are changing and I cannot wait to see what all the new fashion trends will be like on campus this spring!
