Style Guru Bio: Celia Hubbard

While other first graders were playing with Barbies, I was playing with fashion. For hours I would force my younger sister to be my mannequin while I took the part of fashion designer, taping her into my prized one-of-a-kind newspaper dresses. My designs may not have been waterproof and they may have only been a one-time use, but they did make headlines, literally, they were made out of newspaper!

For as long as I can remember I have been was obsessed with fashion. In elementary school I was that kid that always had the matching headbands and dresses, and leaving the house in anything other than my clogs was just not an option. A few things may have changed since then, but to this day I am still captivated by the latest styles and trends and spend hours pouring through magazines and blogs to look for new ideas that I can incorporate into my own wardrobe.

Originally from Manhattan Beach, CA, a small town outside of Los Angeles, moving to the East Coast was a big change for me! Getting used to the Boston style and weather has been quite the challenge, but I have loved every minute of it! The Boston city girl is so sophisticated and I love looking for ways to combine that style with my beachy roots.

I am currently a sophomore studying film and television at Boston University, and as I walk down Commonwealth Ave, I definitely get to see my fair share of city style! From the T stops to the streets of Allston, BU Fashionistas/os are everywhere, setting new trends and living up the Boston style. I am so excited to be a CollegeFashionista Style Guru this semester and cannot wait to see what you stylish Boston Fashionistas and Fashionistos have in store for me! Please feel free to follow me on Twitter on @celiahubz to keep up with my daily fashion adventures!
