My name is Chelsea Kay and I am a junior at Columbia College Chicago where I am studying Fashion Business. This is my first semester writing for College Fashionista and I could not be more excited. Going to school in a big city like Chicago I am surrounded and inspired everyday by people walking in the streets and around my campus. Because of this I realized being a Style Guru for College Fashionista would be the perfect fit.
Fashion and photography are two very important components in my life. My love for these two came at an early age. My mom would always be taking pictures of nature or my family. Furthermore, I would always find myself rushing to the store to buy the newest issue of Elle or InStyle. If I am not flipping through the pages of a magazine, I am most likely making jewelry.
Every person is fashionable in his or her own way. There are many definitions and outlooks on what’s fashionable, what’s in style and what’s trendy. That’s the great thing about street style. People are able to take their own personal looks to the streets and inspire and be inspired by others.
I would describe my personal style as rocker-chic. I love mixing girly pieces with completely unexpected tougher pieces. I also love to able to take a certain piece of clothing from day to night as versatility is key in my wardrobe.
I am excited to share the amazing fashion I come across in the streets of Chicago and hope to inspire all of you Fashionistas and Fashionistos!
