My name is Elizabeth Sensky, and I am happy to say that this will be my fifth semester writing for CollegeFashionista. As Head Style Guru for The Ohio State University, I am excited to spend this summer scouring the streets for the best looks college fashion has to offer. This summer I will be interning with Gemma Redux in New York City and reporting from there, giving you a taste of NYC fashion through an OSU lens.
Fashion is my creative outlet. Some people play with paint and clay, I use clothes. Creating a cohesive yet quirky reflection of my feelings on any given day is how I approach getting dressed in the morning. I believe fashion has the power to lift your mood and inspire others. It is an entity that lies between art and utility. Simply put: it is fun!
I draw most of my fashion inspiration from my friends and people watching. That’s why CollegeFashionista is my perfect job. I can turn my everyday people watching into a tangible story. I can also show you how to recreate that story on a college budget. I am always searching for the best deals or easy DIY projects. Most of my clothes are thrifted treasures or unearthed from the deep recesses of a sale rack. I admire people who constantly challenge our ideas of what fashion is. But above all, I admire people who are true to themselves, as cliché as that may sound. In that vein, you can expect to find honest individuals presented in my column this summer. I hope you follow along with me as I share my weekly style inspirations.
