My name is Emily Barnes and I am back for my second session of writing for CollegeFashionista this fall! I am a rising junior at Syracuse University, majoring in Fashion Design with a concentration in the Fashion and Beauty Communications Milestone program. Creative writing, and writing in general, has always been an interest of mine, as has fashion. And what better place to fuse those interests than CollegeFashionista?
I love how fashion enables you to be whoever you want to be. I can be a rocker one day and a boho hippie the next, all with a change of clothes. I love pulling older clothes from my mom’s closet and pairing them with more modern pieces from my collection. In my opinion, the most fascinating thing about fashion is how it transcends time and how nearly every fashion moves through a cyclical track, waiting to come back in style.
So bring on the edgy, the classic, and the down right wacky style Syracuse, because I am here to discover the trends that parade around our campus.
