Style Guru Bio: Emily Freund

I am starting my sophomore year at the University of Iowa with an unknown major that changes on a daily basis…along with hundreds of thousands of other students out there. Since I am completely unsure of what I will be doing for the rest of my life, I feel much more confident in telling you all what I am absolutely sure of about myself at THIS moment: I love the Hawkeyes, Chicago will always be my favorite city, I am dependent on coffee and music, and finally…I could spend all day browsing clothing sites — putting clothes, that I will never be able to afford, into a fictional shopping bag.

It can be hard at times for me to keep up my sense of fashion on a very small budget. In fact, I used to be someone who would go into stores and “needed” everything that I saw, but after a year in college, as a very broke Style Guru, I have learned to recreate looks I see in stores and on the runways, using what I already have access to in my closet.

As far as my sense of fashion goes, fall is my absolute favorite season; oversized sweaters, new boots, and an excessive amount of scarves…what could be better? With that being said, I am so thrilled to be joining the CollegeFashionista team for the fall semester to represent my fellow Hawkeyes.

I am really looking forward to a great semester, sharing with you my outlook on the fashion world. I hope you will enjoy reading my entries as much as I will enjoy writing them!
